Hey there, I have a couple of tutorials for UVW stuff that might help on my website. I'm not sure if you already know stuff like simple ways to Mirror UV's and how to transfer from one uv layout to another in 3ds max. So... you might find some of this useful: http://www.bradm3d.com/Tutorials_New.html Ben Mathis has a lot…
Actually I think it's the opposite, when you overlay normals you completely kill the blue channel, it turns to pure white, so you loose pretty much all depth information. Paul Tosca made a great tutorial years ago where he explains this and teaches a workaround, on pages 13 and 14:…
just because you're 15 doesn't mean you shouldn't look at the tutorials. There's a couple 15 year olds on the forums that are doing awesome stuff. :) Grow a thicker skin, if you've been using it for 2 years then uv layouts should be a breeze. Polycounts is about tough love, there's plenty of tutorials out there for…

I use bodypaint, and I must say I couldn't imagine not using it for low poly characters like this. Bodypaint is ideal for this type of work IMO. Here are the tutorial you are after: http://www.vfxcast.com/search/ Search bodypaint, and you'll get like 5 pages of stuff. Also, your very own Poop (Ben Mathis) here has some…
I would suggest starting with modeling a face in your favourite 3d modeling software (3ds max, maya, etc.) I think it will make you understand more about the shapes. Just follow a basic tutorial to start with. And maybe use it as a base for more details in zBrush. I know this tutorial has been useful for me in the past.…
After working some time on this - I ended up with something like this https://youtu.be/YceUMIgWMzQ Prototype of a workflow that I've been meditating on and trying to apply it to a Game Character that I've been working on. Shot in UE4 in ElementalDemo scene. Also, I put together a series of tutorials covering "Best…
Well Eric you were right! No mystery light with the script off. Thank you very much! Guess I should have tried that first, lol. Now to find another camera follow script! Edit: just in case anyone else is having a similar issue, I followed this tutorial and used the accompanying script, and it works great! No mystery light…
Huh? The tutorial covers everything you need to do to go from spec to metalness (first set of instructions) or metalness to spec (second set, also the one you want). What do you mean by "it"? It's not clear what you're talking about. Regardless, the tutorial covers exactly what you seem to be asking, and there's nothing…
Here is a tutorial to get your feet wet. http://www.switchonthecode.com/tutorials/photoshop-tutorial-actions If you have tedious tasks that need to be done for multiple images, you can record yourself going thru it one time and then map that to a keyboard key, like F2. Stop recording, then just hit F2 as you switch to your…
