graphical issue : triangles on materials
hi, I've just bought substance painter. when I create a fill layer triangles are appearing in the mesh. they desappear when I put tiling on 'none' but are appearing again after another task, for exemple creating a generator in the fill layer. 1280 x 960 res makes my monitor get darks looks bad on my monitor. I work in at 1280 x 1024 and all the work I do seems to look fine? What the hell am I missing something? If I make a square in a 640 x 480 res it looks square at 640 x480 and 1280 x 1024.... Alex -

ok just to clear this up you're wrong / highly optimistic here's some numbers at runtime... a 4k texture set will use 60-80mb a 8k texture set will use 240-320 mb a 16k texture set will use 960-1280mb Since the new fanciest xbox only has about 11gb of GPU memory you're not getting 16k maps in your console games this… -

Regarding your question about a good poly count, usually I like to position the model approximately to where it will be viewed. If a cylinder doesn't look quite round, I add more polygons before I proceed. On a revolver, I think you should be able to easily get away with 4-6k tris. I just did a pretty low poly revolver… -
Really bad memory leak whilst using Maya 2016 UV Editor!
Hey, Not sure why it is happening but when using Maya 2016 UV Editor my 12GB of RAM gets maxed out within 15 minutes :neutral: It seems to only happen if the editor is open. Actually any card that does DOT3 bump mapping will do normal mapping AFAIK, its specular that you need pixel shaders for.
