I need models and such to rig so i can make a reel, this is for my own personal use so I will be keeping the rig files etc. If you want me to rig characters for you for your projects I can do that at a negotiable rate but for right now I'm just looking for stuff to flesh out my reel.

i finished modelinging my character and now i don't know if i should rig it first or texture it first...it seems like it is usually rigged before textured, am i right?

The easiest place to start character rigging in Maya would be Youtube. There's many many free tutorials https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=character+rigging+in+Maya If i were you, i would spend a few days and do ALL of the free Youtube videos and then look at Gnomon 3d workshop for Maya character rigging…

This definitely sounds like an issue with how your rig is setup. Have you tested the performance with other rigs? I just tried this with the Dude rig(headless version) using two animated refences.
