Just wondered if this has been discussed or any interest in maybe forming up a Polycount guild on one of the SWTOR servers. I'm down for PVE or PVP if there is one. Playing a Sith Warrior right now to try some things out.
Polycount's very own Low Odor (I certainly hope so!) just accepted a position at Timegate Studios, working on our unannounced second project. Congratulations and welcome to the team! Add another Polycounter notch to Timegate's belt! :D

Driver ready ( i forgot the head :poly127: ). Polycount around 13,5k. Still need some touchups on the helmet normal map, but that's photoshop work. Salud. EDIT: Sorry, i found i have the helmet duplicated, actual polycount is 12,200 tris.
Isn't there some way to use the Google map API to pull that off? If any polycounter's are familiar with using the Google map API, it would probably be possible to set something like this automatically, just taking the location data from the polycount member profiles.
It really depends on what kind of polycount you are shooting for, but for the best looking results you should get some geometry around the large folds that will change the silhouette. A good example is this character in the polycount showcase, http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74780.
google "thirding" term. If you are brave one you can look directly to polycount wiki cause it is covered there as well. You know polycount have wiki as well right? EDIT: does not matter what engine are you using... It is general technique.
hi dan! welcome to polycount! Why do you want your polycount to be so low? Do you plan on normal mapping this? Just to let you know, characters are on average 10k polygons in games. So environments are usually a lot more!
It's very good for a beginner actually! You could use a smaller polycount for the shoes, but then again, in 2007 this polycount isn't big anyway. Maybe you could try to go for real low poly as an exercise? BTW, his smile is psychotic, I like!
