After reading that article I had to shed a tear for the old spear and throwing knife; may they be recreated with mods post-haste. Same goes for all of the individual weapon-type divisions.
Oh yeah, forgot to ask, other than the Blades' weapon itself, is there any way to craft a really good katana? I'd love to start a new game as a badass dual-wielding katanas.
What I'm saying is that I couldn't find a way to make melee weapons function any differently than they currently do. Maybe through enchanting I could put an effect on them? Not sure.
Nope, but that wouldn't help either, you'd have to build the game around free weapon movement too, all you could do would be to do simple pre-recorded motions to do attack or block.
Hey, has anyone noticed that in dual wielding (even with the dual flurry perk) that swinging only one hand is just as fast as swinging both weapons if they are identical? What's the point of swinging the off-hand at all if there isn't any advantage to doing so? You could just have two weapons equipped and spam the right…
If you level up enchanting you can get absorb health to put on your weapons? I think it's gonna be a long time before I reach that stage but it'd definitely make melee slightly easier.
So my friend and I started a character based on the Badass Unarmed Viking instructional video. It's pretty great; he's level 5 and his fists do more damage than most weapons you'd have at that point.
No, they didn't remove every kind of number from Skyrim. Weapon damage, armor rating, health/stamina/magicka, enchanting, and skills are still all part of the numbers meta game. You can't purge numbers from a game entirely though.
Master with no fast travel :P, I do run quite a lot from random high level encounters in the wild, but it makes combat way more rewarding, with blocking and timed attacks playing a huge role, weapon-flailing becomes instant fail.
Carl, almost nothing you've described is applicable to Skyrim. You can wield any armor/weapon/shield as soon as you get it. The only difference in damage for the most part is typically the quality (material) of the weapon. Which makes sense, an iron sword probably wouldn't hurt as much as a razor sharp blade infused with…
