Compared to getting more complex stuff running it is really simple. Usually I keep on finding stuff I didn't wanted from an API version I wasn't looking for... And from time to time I find some page wanting to sell me actual blender from amazon -.- Btw: I had similar registering issues first as I was happily renaming…
maybe check the console if it errors? Hmm maybe try to rename the folder "SimpleLattice-master.zip" to "SimpleLattice.zip" or so? I rarely use the zip way of installing addons :D Gave the material thing a bit of polish: https://github.com/BenjaminSauder/create_assign_material
@pior oh my.. Im just dumb, renaming the zip like this doens't help, as the folder inside the zip is wrongly named...I now just added a release zip file to the github repo - also changed the readme link.
Went ahead and mirrored it, that was pretty simple. I still tried to download that addon though. Downloaded the zip to a folder, but couldn't find it in the install addon screen in Blender for some reason. But I guess that's a question for another day. Thank you.
@armians when you install GoB you need to first set a file inside the Zapps folder in zbrush that comes with the addon. That file contains all the conversion handling between Zbrush and Blender, including the Axis transform settings and scale.
not a blender expert yet ;) but that sounds more like a filemanager problem. offline network drive in the bookmarks causing a timeout or similar issue. does it happen when you relocate the entire prefs folder and have blender recreate a fresh one?

Whichever you need depends on the package but most packages are cross compatible so I would try 3.x first. During install there will be an option to add Python and it's scripts folder to your PATH,…
@ wazou Here is the MEL script for one click import and export for Maya Export: file -force -options "" -typ "FBX export" -es "C:/...."; Replace the C:/.... with your folder Import: file -import -type "FBX" -ignoreVersion -ra true -mergeNamespacesOnClash false -namespace "e" -options "fbx" -importFrameRate true…
@pior ups, never tried to install from zip myself - solution is pretty easy, just rename the zip to workplane, or go to <user>appdata/roaming/blender foundation/blender/version/scripts/addons and rename the folder "Workplane-master" to workplane.
This is an obvious point, but besides the documentation, having a nice library of example scripts for you to study is essential in learning the tricks and patterns that people use. Blender comes with a lot of scripts in the add-ons folder: http://www.blender.org/manual/extensions/python/add_ons.html
