The hair seem to be hidden. But I can't unhide it. I press "H" or try to hit that little eye button on the tab xgen interactive grooming. On the render I see the hair normally. But I want to make changes to it.. What to do?

xGen wont work on meshes with third party shaders. Try a blinn or lambert on the groom mesh. Have you done anythin to your groom geo? Could you reimport the old geo and rebind? xGen is a complex tool and such problems get normally fixed in the studio by a TD.
I have created some hair for my character using Xgen and am looking to make some renders preferably in Marmoset. I've textured my model in Substance painter and was wondering how I can render the model without the use of hair cards?
