Hey guys, I have been following Tim Bergholz’ Ultimate Weapon tutorial for the last 2 weeks. After watching the modeling videos I got a nice looking AK-M (floaters in yellow). I also followed his edge
straightening instructions and got everything all packed up nice and tidy. However, when it comes to baking
everything goes…
Love the lighting on the figure, and the soft bounce lighting! What's the source of the red light? Need to see the source, otherwise it's a bit confusing. Also why does the red light cut off in a diagonal mid-way up the wall? Statues typically have a base below them to stand on, they're not just stuck in a niche all alone.…
Ah, I see. Is on left lowpoly with normal map applied, on the right lowpoly mesh shading? Personally, like to reduce the mesh shading gradients for such objects so that the normal map has less to compensate, keeping its limited bit depth in mind. Whether mesh gradient will actually come through also depends on the final…
Hi, this is a good start! If you want to achieve realism I would highly recommend finding real life references that are interesting to you and trying to recreate them as closely as possible. In your image the door, wall, and floor are clearly just using one tiling material, and are lacking in detail. Where is the trim on…
I create some fan art about Meropid fortress in Genshin impact. Need some advice about light. Trying a dark, almost horror atmosphere. Still think it's just too dark picture and no dark atmosphere. Be appreciated for any advice.
Oh man, the coffee almost hit the screen! Hard time not laughing out loud, i can feel some tears coming up from laughin though. Traditional sculpting is great for your overal skills, really learned alot about shapes since i started. T4pan, I never took classes so i dont know if it will do you any good. I like to sculpt…
First time doing one of these contests. I'm very excited to be part of this. I am going to do a sci-fi theme with a blend between ultra-futuristic alien-looking stuff but with an ornate religious visual accent. The throne room will have a glass dome thing that looks out into space as the room itself will be on a…
Hello, after spending hours on this i decided to come here to ask for help. I have a low poly model that i wish to bake with an Higher Poly one but I get some weird artifacts on the normal map following the topology. It seems to not be linked to the high poly as I tested swapping the high poly to just a subdivided version…
I've had this kind of thing happen before when leaving the triangulation up to unity. Try manually triangulating inside of your 3d package before exporting to unity. In some cases you'l see that distortion happening as you triangulate, when that occurs try alternating the direction of the triangle slice
Hey all! Fast update. Decided I'd give upping the body resolution a try today, just to see if it would work out. After fiddling around a bit, I subdivided the model in Maya once (using creases where necessary) and got a pretty satisfactory result! It needed some elbow grease afterwards, mostly fixing some reluctant topo…
