@Crazy_pixel Thanks :) Didn't develop the story behind them yet, I let it develop along the way. At first I wanted to make a character surrounded with furry weird phantoms from the wild.. but when added the creature I thought to give him a coat, still deciding how to wrap it up..
Thanks. I understand why when dealing with hardsurface, but I couldn't understand the reason for say a round ball looking creature which doesn't have those degree shifts and by making every seam hard you'll see hard seams when baking when you don't want it.
How come? We're using CAT now too on a pretty big project. Been liking it a lot compared to biped or standard bones. It made our lives much easier when doing creatures with strange or asymmetrical anatomy. Just curious what kind of difficulties you've been having.
art-dump: Trying to learn how to adapt styles. creature in the style of limbo: tank in the style from tiny thief: And started this fun character yesterday: (the concept is from fightpunch http://cghub.com/images/view/420357/) after 1 hour after 2 hours and did this prop today
i think this topic should be about the tech and not the unethical portrayal of dead people . judging from the video it looks very realistic except for some sliding but that probably wasn't even noticeable from the audience point of view. i'm up for some yugiohish hologram cardgame battles! (but with cool creatures)
for hard surface I prefer photoshop, its easier to draw a straight line. for creatures/characters I like photoshop for laying out the initial colors, then jumping into mudbox/bodypaint and fixing seams. really its down to how good your end result looks, not how you do it.
https://youtu.be/_CvPjGRR2rM Wanted to do a take on taking these visuals and seeing how they would play out in a side scroll fashion like "Another World". The creature animations in the first shot are done by the very talented Manuel Trujillo check out his reel here! https://vimeo.com/artofempty
@Deadman, the warlock came out really well. The staff looks kind of like a lobster creature with 3 huge jaw pieces. CM is almost done. I've started blocking in the BH I was originally planning to do for the chest. I'm not sure if I'll have it done in time but we'll see.
Finally Packing everything to finish, been really busy and also had a lot of trouble with the texturing due to being bad at drwaing and lacking good concept, but still tried my best and got some references from Riot void creatures. I'll leave here the last renders and wires
Really awesome work, love the whole reimagining of classic creatures thing. One thing I did notice however is that the seam on her (I'm assuming its a she) neck is visible. Other then that, would be great like others have said to see a breakdown (wires/flats/highpoly) of the character.
