Painting masks for optimisation control = win ... that was one of the things I always liked about Lightwave's optimisation plugin. This should be great for taking things out just before baking (or 3d printing!) to keep file sizes and processing times down. I love Pixologic!
Scuse the crappy pic, I can never get a good shot of images under glass. Concept art print by Ralph McQuarrie - and signed by the man himself. Not a lot of real value, but I remember staring at his paintings as a thirteen year old, in complete awe.

FetchQuest Games is looking for a logo design for a soon to be released mobile title. The art style of the game is the low poly, hand painted look exemplified by World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Torchlight, etc. The finished product can be delivered as either a 2D illustration or a 3D model depending on the chosen…
Looks very cool overall :+1: Looking closer, I think there are a few points that could be improved on: Skull - Got to agree this is the most glaring weakness, looking caught in-between different ideas. Given the overall amount of work put in, wouldn't skimp on such a central element. Perhaps do some paint-overs to explore…
If you want to go nuts and improve drastically, I'll tell you what we did in my digital painting course where everyone improved drastically. One week we'd paint 6 different kinds of stone textures (granite, stone slabs, obsidian, etc --or even a couple the same kind), then the next week do 6 different kinds of wood…
Hi Patrrickafaca, welcome to the forums :) The concept for these paintings are interesting and I think they could be executed really well - there's some promising elements here and there so I'd suggest looking at the lighting and values to improve upon it. For example in the first piece there's a fantastic opportunity for…
Once again, thanks guys. I had so much fun making this environment and I'm very glad you enjoy it. @kyle.rau and Mr.Bear The light setup is pretty standard but went through a lot of tweaking. Looking back, I made the mistake of trying to fine tune my lighting too early on not taking into account what I would be adding to…
I started watching my childhood cartoon The X-Men and could not help but start on a Sabertooth sculpt. I am planning on printing it and painting it once I am done. Feel free to let me know what you think. There is still a good amount of work that I want to do to it.
