Welcome to the voting thread for our next monthly environment art challenge for January & February 2020!

To start off, a big thanks to @kadeschui for heading up these challenges for the past few years! Your consistency and diligence is so appreciated! And thank you for allowing me to take over this challenge from this point on.

Below I've selected a few Environments and Props to get us started. As per the usual, this Challenge will offer two environment options and two prop options - 1 hand-painted and 1 realistic / hard surface each.

Even if you aren't planning on participating in the challenge, feel free to vote!

If you aren't satisfied with the concepts provided for this month, feel free to add your own! We are completely open to people posting their own concepts, but keep in mind that the difficulty level has to be that of which can be completed in two months' time for the environment, and one month's time for the prop!

To vote for your favorite concept(s), post a reply with the image(s) you prefer. The winning concepts will be chosen on the day of the next monthly challenge, based on votes received. Voting will run until December 31st at 11:59pm EST, and the official challenge thread will go up January 1st, at which point you can begin posting progress.

The hard surface category is linking to last months concept I believe, just a heads up. These are awesome though, love that the hard surface category got some wood an stuff in there.

Hey guys, just about a day and a half until the voting closes for the next challenge! Glad to see support for the concepts I've suggested, but if anyone wants to do anything else definitely speak up soon! I got a message on Twitter mentioning that this month looks very hardsurface-heavy, so if anyone wants to do a more organic concept, throw something out there.

I do wish the crane had some sort of workable scale though, I have no idea how big that thing is lol

The ropes lead back to the wheels/handles on each side. Imagine you were trying to turn a wheel with some effort and what range of motion you'd be using. I'd put the top of the handles a bit below shoulder height, so a little over 4ft. Going from that I'd estimate the total height to be around 12ft.
That is assuming it was constructed for human use. This prop would fit in a fantasy setting which opens up Dwarfs (short) or Giants (much taller) to base your scaling on.

Thanks Andy that helps a bit, there are some scale weirdness too though. Those handles if sized to be at human height are freakishly small for the task at hand. So I'm thinking dwarves or orcs
