The way I was taught to do it is to create a sampling of several colors and hues to create a palette, and use those colors to create your base. Looking good man, I think its already 10x better than the old one. I would say play with adding some colored bands running horizontally through the rock. Mess with making a few custom brushes using squares rather then circles they can create some nice effects. And then maybe get rid of some of the smaller hairline cracks… -

Thanks for the example Ruz. I think we can both agree that this is a fantastic piece of 3d art and the artist who made this deserves all of the credit they recieve. It is also however a great example for me to use to explain what i am talking about, even the smoothest areas of the model are still a little bit lumpy… -

For a start, the red lines on the top of the head indicate edges that are doing nothing to help define the shape, either loose them or make them add to the roundness of the head (I would loose them and redistro the extra polys). On the torso the same thing except here you should try and make the loop do more for the shape… -
Blender issue with oddly shaded faces.
Hi everyone and happy new year. Recently I have encountered a problem with some models in Blender (I use 2.82). When importing a model I have made in Sketchup, Blender "creates" these weird dark grey shapes on the model itself.
