actually got invited to an interview once, but i didn't read it until weeks later because the email went into my spam folder for some reason. by then, i already had gotten a slightly unfriendly second email asking why i wasn't replying. i never replied :(
VXGI settings by default wouldn't produce anything comparable with lightmass. Read their included PDF file in the installation folder there are some settings you can change/tweak. You can also enable VXAO that produces really nice large scale AO at the cost of dropping light bounces.
Hey man, I'm no expert (yet!!) but was at your level a little ways back, all i can say is Anatomy, Anatomy, Anatomy. Use a ton of reference and even start building folders of the stuff. The head really needs some adjusting. It takes a lot of practise :) you will get there
Hey I've had no issues installing on my PC at home but at the office PC, i've installed AIR and opene the RAR file for 0.5 and extracted all files to a folder. Which of these files am i supposed to run to install? Doesn't seem like any of them do anything :(
Thanks for the heads up on this one. I've grabbed a bunch of pictures for my Inspiration folder :) Maybe one day when I'm living in a mansion I'll start collecting stuff like this. It's gorgeous, but I wouldn't know where to put it, and like you mentioned it's probably on the expensive side.
To do this: - open MAxscript Editor - Put this two lines actionMan.executeAction 0 "40264" -- Views: Expert Mode Toggle actionMan.executeAction 0 "408" -- show command panel - Save this as a script with desired name. For example ExpertModeWithCommandPanel.ms - paste ExpertModeWithCommandPanel.ms to maxroot/scripts/startup…
Thank you. I actually managed to solve it. The problem was I needed to save my empty map before doing anything else. That way the map package was created under the content folder and my lightmaps got saved to that package :) A piece of vital information I had missed.....
Very nice! Rivets stand out nicely... would you mind posting your normals? And what was your general workflow? Did you build the base shape and then weld on pieces like the engines and pylons? Looking to build a helicopter of my own - going in the inspiration folder for sure :)
Are you refering to saving your TGA or JPG version, requiring you to navigate to an output folder? Your question made it sound like you meant autosave in the way that Max has it, in that it just saves your PSD every five minutes, but I'm assuming that's not what you're getting at.
really awesome job man.. The only thing i can come to think of is that on the Sig you might have wanted to fake a little bevel on the edge of them holes there on the frontgrip. They look really sharp and "polygonious" right now anyways.. made it into my inspiration folder, the mosin rocks!
