My setup is:* 250GB SSD OS/Apps * 250GB SSD Current project(s) * 250GB SSD Steam My profile folder is mapped to it's own 1TB HDD. Long term storage goes to an external HDD. Very important things go to my personal webspace.
Seconded. In my case, however, I've left the 120 GB and added the 240 -- I've got the OS and whatever insists on keeping data in the user folders for the 120 GB drive, and programs installed to the 240 GB. The 120 GB drive filled up far too quickly.
They are normal stamps for hard surface work and skin grain high quality scans that you can use for any project. It's a little messy at the moment because everything is in the same folder but the next major update will bring a new shelf and make all this much easier to sort through.
Yea I think they changed the default light setup from 1 to 2 and Gama/LUT to on in 2012. If you get it set how you want in a default scene and save that scene as maxstart.max to your 3dsmax/scenes folder it will load each time you start max.
Great guys cheers. Might give that script a go, because max does not want to play today and it doesnt jump to material types when I hit 'image' on the displace modifier, it navigates to just the regular images folder in max for some reason :( Ah, the joys of 3D!
Nuke your prefs to kingdom come! :) You might consider doing this, just make sure you backup any scripts, shelves, etc. you want to keep. You could just rename the existing prefs folder and start Maya. Then copy from the old one.
Displacement is a shader setting and afaik didn't show up til 2019 Opacity requires that you switch to a different shader Don't understand the question about measured sliders You delete things from the shelf by deleting them from the disk - your shelf is in your home folder
Gotta love Google Reverse image, it really helps when you want to model a concept, but you want to get approvement from the artist first. Plus various, "alternative" model searches... "Oh yes, that's just my reference folder, I need to see the body to model." ;)
thats succckky. try closing UDK, going into your ...UDK-DATE/UDKGAME/Config folder and deleting any *.ini file that begins with UDK. There should be like...12-15 of them.. They'll get autogenerated freshly when you run UDK next. Might help. Might not.
Hmm it actually happens to be 100 times better than 3D.sk. This is fantastic ref http://characterdesigns.com/bandaid/content/photosets/325/337/Photoset_011_012.JPG I actually had a pic of that guy in my ref folder for a while and didnt know where it came from! Thanks Fletch.
