I've been doodling a bit step 1: slicing heightmaps up at <n> intervals so we get a volume source : step 2 : some hasty (read improper) transforms gives us a pseudo 3d view I can't be bothered now but I do have a distance field for each line so in principle I could make this "solid"
Recently, Ive gotten in the habit of playing a couple rounds of Quake: Live (Link) during lunch at work, and whenever I can snag a couple mins to myself on the weekends. Old game, I know, but still fun. Anybody else playing? I go by Mechadus on there also. -N!
http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/11/laser-backpack-creates-instant-3d-maps-venkman-reminds-you-to-n/ I thought this was really interesting. Basically just the next step forward from what they are doing with Google Earth, but still, the potential with this technology is awesome.
Not sure how I feel about this. PopCap is one of my all-time favorite developers, up there with Blizzard n Valve. Hope EA gives them the royal treatment. :D http://kotaku.com/5820553/electronic-arts-buys-maker-of-bejeweled-and-plants-vs-zombies
she could probably use a little more wear 'n tear, right now she's super clean like it's her first day on the job. That aside, Holy-Fuck-Nuts this is a nice model :) what's your texture rez?
I'd noticed that but thought nothing of it for some reason. DUR. I just tested it, somehow I got some huge N-gons that I didn't put there. Cleaned it up in Cinema4D and now it works. Thank you SO MUCH.
Thanks, I'll be sure to put some serious wear n tear all over the chainsaw and some more on the skin. Adding some more variation to the skin tone is a good idea, thanks. As for blood, that will come towards the end :D
Warcraft Editor, Source SDK CS:S, that xbox platformer N+ and its editor, and Age of Empires II editor... All of which creating scenarios for a group of friends and playing them out together was probably what sparked my interest.
It'll be fosilised micro oganism in a meteorite. BORING...... I want spaceships n shit. I WANT OFF THIS ROCK! Even if it means slavery on some god forsaken mining asteroid in the gamma quadrant. It'll still be cool as f*&^!
Well reassigning it to a new hotkey worked, but for whatever reason, "alt h" will not work. Even though it's on the list of available hotkeys. Ah well. Thanks for playing, just going to have to get used to using "alt n" from now on.
