Yeah, you are right those areas are supposed to look really like a sharp look as if it broke off not long ago. But it just looks melted kind of. I was thinking of doing like a rock wall and floor yeah but don't know if I should go for it. You really think I should do it?
Hey, you're welcome for the head crit by the way, not like it took a short time to put together or anything ¬_¬ The cloth looks like melted chocolate as a result of you subdividing way too early, therefore your sculpt is coming out lumpy. Drop down a few levels, study reference more closely.
Thanks! You're right, unfortunately time hasn't been friendly to me in the past few months, and I had to make do with whatever I had left to spare. Good luck to you too! I'm particularly fond of your Melting Pot theme, after all, I'm a sucker for fantasy themes.
An interesting fact about this type of railgun is that they use aluminum rounds. The round melts mid flight and causes much much more damage than a regular round. I think its cool that molten aluminum makes such a great armor piercing round. Plus it sprays molten shrapnel into the other side of the barrier.
[ QUOTE ] seriously after watching this thread i went to the hobby shop and bought myself a 1:35 scale tamiya Panzerkampfwagen II gogo irl modeling [/ QUOTE ] haha, awesome! Have fun with it @kat: I don't know the name in english, but the glue I used melted the plastic parts together.
Pretty cool man, I wanna see this as a melee weapon. Maybe a substitute for the Pyros flamethrower. I agree with Vig about the larger brush strokes and details. The ringed design could be larger and less defined. You could probably put the entire texture on a 128x512 or smaller and it would still hold up.
Hello! We are a team of two artists, and thought this challenge would be interesting to participate in our free time. Our main idea is to show the throne room of a mothership, which at the moment is hovering above a ice planet where it is using a laser to melt the ice while harvesting the water. It will be in a sci-fi…
Ok the guy I started the thread off with had a little episode today. A supervisor who likes to mess with him (because it's real easy) asked him if he likes hot sauce. He of course exclaims "Hell yes I like hot sauce!" with all kinds of bravado so the supervisor offers him some Dave's Insanity Sauce. Now if you've ever had…
I'm pretty much with meloncov on this. Your surface treatments just make me go meh. Your textures need to tell a story, where has it been? How long was it there? What happened to it on the way here? Don't put a mark on an object unless you can explain how it got there to a grumpy bastard in an interview
6 or 9 for me. I like that one arm is larger than the other for Melee/Balance/Defense. While the left arm can be used to freely swing his rock mace. I'm not sure at this point, from your sketches, if the (6-humanoid) or the (9-beast) one would make a bigger emotional impact.
