Its a quick one, how can I select a whole UV island by selecting a single poly in the viewport? Kinda like the "expand polygon selection to seams" but instead of using UVUnwrap seams (wich work with pelt and peel) it uses the actual borders of the uv islands. Im using 3DSMax 2016. Thx!
I did a quick tutorial to show off the speed and efficiency of 3dsmax 7's Render to Texture features and the DirectX viewport shaders. Take a look at it over on CGChat (I'm currently lacking webspace, so I had to use attachments). http://www.cgchat.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=196134 Enjoy! MoP
Anyone knows a functioning way to bake AO onto the vertex colors of an object within 3dsmax? All the old ways either don't work, or are incredibly buggy on Max2016. Tried a few scripts too, none of them work. Can't believe I'm scratching my head with something that should be so simple?
The promotion for this one was unfortunatly very rare, thats why i would like to drop this link here, i did a search, but didnt come up with anything, so here you go: Its an automatic rig system fpr 3DSMax and looks really promising http://www.kisskissbankbank.com/en/projects/auto-rig
It seams like the face normals in 3DSmax are messed up. I can't get them to extrude along the normal like I can in any other app. Anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? EDIT: Looks like there was something wrong with the mesh, exporting it as an obj and re-importing fixes the issue, but every time I re-create it from…
I want to create stylized hair based on geometry. Is there a way to use 3dsmax hair and fur for an effect like this?: https://youtu.be/ZEzh6qbS3As?t=1353
I finally made the jump to autodesk subscription and post caddie versions of 3dsmax. Has anyone else noticed viewport rotation smoothing or acceleration? Can I turn it off? I feel like I can't make quick and accurate rotations around my models- I have to actually pay attention to my camera rotation to get it to end up…
It depends on what version of 3dsmax you have and what type of shaders you can run. If you're using 3dsmax 2009 you can use the new composite map (metal ray material) and set the layer to multiply like you would in PhotoShop.
