31K points is still pretty low, maybe subdivide once or twice more. The first image in comparison is at 2.7 million. Also your matcap might be contributing to the faceted look. Try switching the material to something else and see if that helps.
Why's this a problem? Lack of Jergens? ;) The new steering wheel looks damn good. Now to see a prices ;) They also mentioned a new madcatz, but didn't mention if it's wireless. $230 is a bit pricey for me though, and it better have wireless at that rate ;)
I'm working on this: Any crits are welcome.. I used it to tone my high res modeling and workflow with xnormal + crazybump to get good results. 3^1024 maps .. diffuse, spec, and normal. 227 tris (max reporting after being triangulated).
you can get all technical with finding the right online handle, perhaps make sure it does not mean anything offensive in 137 languages, too. or do it like this guy - http://poopinmymouth.com/ ...not a nickname you would ever forget. B)
yeah learning a lot more, wishing i kinda learned these things when i was doing the polycount adventure contest hehe, a test bake and render of wireframe in maya, need to reduce the 23k polycount feels a bit too much for the character
