Hey! I was in the middle of texturing a lamp post on substance painter, my goal is to reach photorealism, so being as close as possible to my REFs is vital. My problem is that i can't really tell if the lower part is metal or not. The part i'm talking about is circled in red: The reflections suggests me that it could be a…
well no, we got the OSL shaders. you can make what you want and i think it comes with 100 examples maps. if you like substance then there is a substance map plugin actively being developed by allegorithmic so you can load substances quickly in max.
You can setup custom nodes for painter using substance designer - this is how all the proceedural nodes and textures in substance designer are made. You export a SBSAR file from designer and put it in the shelf in painter. There is already an 'auto levels' node in substance designer that basically does this.

I have a problem with my maps. Basically my mesh is looking different in marmoset toolbag from substance painter. I dont know why, i worked in PBR spec gloss in substance and every map is plugged in correct in marmoset. 1) My specular map of a bullet 2) How it looks in Marmoset 3) How it looks in Substance
Quick Update: I kinda worked backwards here and created some tileable substances first to plug in as I texture. Also found out there's so much you can create with substances. I've even been able to generate a very basic cloth with it. Substances:
I am totally new to substance so I am learning and I was wondering , since I made my first model bake in substance and I got normals and other maps, but there are some small errors, can I fix manually directly on the texture map in PS may be and then reimport and keep using it in substance? If so how I do ?
