Get a wireless router that supports 802.11n. I've used Apple's airport extreme. It works well, but less expensive models are available from other manufacturers, which probably work just as well. -

Pool tables are not shiny. But this is a pretty major seam. If you can still see it with a felt texture, and you can't get rid of it, then make the flat part one texture and mirror the rest.
