Re: How facing billboards to camera works in sub-object level?
I believe Speedtree uses batching to draw all those billboards in one draw call. They're all using the same material, so all the vertices are sent as one "call" to be rendered. -

you do know the poly count is just one of the things that effect performance, texture size, shader complexity, fillrate, over draw and draw calls tend to have a greater effect on performance -

Make sure your draw size is set to 1 when drawing out zpheres. It's pretty unintuitive but it makes a big difference to the end result, assuming you're turning them into an adaptive skin. -

If you're going to hand draw the texture and do a zbrush sculp....I think the normal map would be fighting any detail you put into the drawing. Looking pretty good so far. -
Trying to track down a thread
Pretty much everyone will know it but i just can't remember it, frustrating me. It was the thread where people would submit a drawing which others then added onto, and you kept adding the names of the people who'd done changes to that drawing when you updated with your version. -

I bought an ultrawide with the thought of consolidation of my two 24" 16x10's... it didn't last long due to the aspect ratio of my apps when snapping. I ended up with a 24" 4k on the side. If apps could better remember positions, I would maybe go to a single UW. Another thing is that there aren't any tablets that are in UW… -
