So after an awesome 11 months on contract here at Relic working on Space Marine I am leaving to become a Lighting artist at Capcom Vancouver. and its a full-time job as well, no longer a contract worker......which in Vancouver seems to be a rare mythological beast all together right now, so I am pretty excited. I have…
Lots of roles aren't listed as just "3d artist" As others have said, don't filter by jobs listed by roles named "3D artist". There are not many results, you can just scroll and spot the 3D relevant one by reading the titles. Or use a platform with a better search algorithm like LinkedIn.
This is a character I did for my demo reel inspired by Uracil concept http://u-ra-cil.deviantart.com/art/witch01-193388101. She reminded me of a high fashion fantasy illustration so I really wanted to make her and in sort of a Final Fantasy style.Sculpted in ZBrush, Rendered in Marmoset textured in Photohshop, Mari and…
Plus 3D painter like Mari or Mudbox does paint across UDIMs. Substance Painter does have a UDIM version in beta. Unreal does support UDIMs. https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/Engine/Rendering/VirtualTexturing/Streaming/index.html#udimsupport
At work I Polypaint everything. Zbrush mask system is second to non. Both in speed/ iteration, and in quality. Since I don't texture props as one offs, I don't really use Polypaint, but I have seen people use Mari.

I think something like Tri-Planar projection might help you. I believe substance designer has that. a quick demo using Tri-Planar in Mari, im pretty sure you can get similar results with designer or Painter
Quick update, Zbrushing has started. Aiming to only sculpt in major details that would require a displacement map, while all the smaller things should be taken care of with Mari and photo-sourced textures. Working on the GIANT horned shoulder armor next.
Looking good dude. You really pushed the quality of those boots. I've heard a lot about Mari recently, from what i gather, it's some kind of 3D painting tool?... I look forward to seeing your texture work :)
I don't know that Death is necessarily the answer to what is universally feared. My observation is that in most games death is the primary loss condition, yes - be it Chess or Mario - so long as there is a theme that suggests the game piece as a person or life: King or Plumber. So death should be avoided and so the game…
