seeing this makes me want to do some high poly vehicles too. great inspiration. It would be cool to see this composited into some really strange locations, like in the middle of a supermarket parking lot next to some regular sized cars. You could have some 6 yr old staring up at it curiously. well done. dabu
Hey Lucas! I love seein your stuff my friend. Top quality too. I just "WOW!" at each pic seeing the old version compared to the new version. Interesting 2d maps how things are layed out and cut around the face. Some kind of process so you dont make seams that way?
Treat the process like a paid job. Which by the way has nothing to do with motivation or even an incentive toward finalisation but rather just plain old self discipline. An intrinsic trait that differentiates a professional from the amateur, when the former will habitually complete a given task like it or not, whereas the…
Played around with the trim textures this evening. Added subtle colour tints to the Albedo and mixed up the Roughness values to get the textures to pop a bit more. I experimented with adding a "New" and "Old" version of a trim but the results were too noticeable and I think having more mesh variations (changing…
Hey @alekseypindrus that would be really useful! That would probably take less time than me digging out the old files and stripping out all the source files. Could you send me a link at liam.tart@gmail.com or just post it here in this thread? I'll grab it and keep it backed up myself then too. Thanks so much!
Yeah fletch thats my opinion too, but i think he wants to use photoshop for texturing but in combination with projektion painting. Is that possible with mudbox? I really should try blender when it´s final.I hated it when it had this old interface but i liked the new one in the alpha/beta and my hate towards blender was gone…
Daf57 - Yea, its a very interesting reel. Also, alot of fun to use! Alvin - Thanks, appreciate the kind words. Marshkin- Everything is done by hand. I should probably look into using things like quadchamfer and whatnot, but I enjoy doing some things the old fashioned way ha. Here's a different renderfor ya too.
Alright, I might try and go for the second one then. All I did for that one was third my old edge loops, so it's easy enough for me to repeat for the other rails. I'll go over the rest of the metal parts and tighten them up, as well as tightening the polymer a little too, when I get a chance. Cheers.
You shouldn't unzip the folder man, just use the zip file itself. You probably used some browser that renames the mzp file to .zip automatically, just rename the extension (to .mzp) and try again. C86G: Max 2009 is probably too old. Ikonane: your hardware can't handle textures that huge. Upgrade to a better graphics card.
Everyone does weapons, if you want a portfolio to stand out from the rest I'd suggest something unique. That said I'm kind of struggling at the moment too. I just finished making a stylized shark recently and was thinking maybe my next piece could be based on an old pixel game or something (remade to modern standards…
