Maya is giving me a hard time when i try to render my normal mapped meshes in mental ray. Here are my render settings and a picture of the problem. I have my map as tangent space and it looks fine in maya hardware:
Does anyone know any way to get normal map self-shadowing to work with mental ray? With Depth Map Shadows is preferred. I am trying to come up with an alternative to baking ambient occlusion in Maya. Thanks.

Hey I am rendering lightmaps in 3D Studio Max mental ray, and each different resolution of map comes out differently. When using scanline it comes out fine. Anyone know why this is happening? Cheers Cody

hey there, I have tried many different lightss, renders, read tutorials on the internet and I still cannot understand why are the walls so dark on the inside, it's like only the direct light works. any suggestions? I need an outside opinion, thanks. Rendered with mental ray in 3ds max.
