I made it as a standalone filter, you load it in your software (I usually use Substance Player) then input your un-normalized texture, set the parameters you want (output resolution, bit depth, and file format) and save the normalized file.
Nice job! End result has really nice texturing work. The wireframe could use a significant amount of optimization I think. Usually for a game asset like this, you would want to have the edge flow match the design details, rather than being an evenly distributed quad grid. Curious how low you could go, and still preserve…
This is great, love the lighting! The biggest problem for me is that the effects are overpowering everything else, so I can’t really focus on anything but the sparks. And the spinning camera makes it harder on top. I would suggest toning those both way down. The materials have a nice amount of grunge, but I can’t tell if…
This is a thing I started sketching a while ago, it's been a sort of go to project to open up and push some polygons around when I don't want to deal with my "main" projects. It's a redesign of Corporal Hart from timesplitters 2 in a more modern / realistic style. I don't really do a lot of sci fi so this is a fun change…
i did i took one for a test at 1k i was like whoa a 16k, for my needs that is overkill, otherwise kick ass resource and i am sure many appreciate it. Thanks.

Havn't posted on Polycount in a long time, so forgive me if I commit any triangle related faux pas xD. I've recently started working on this Tiger I, and I wanted to spool up a thread to dump all my WIP images into. Here is where it's at currently: I'm trying to challenge myself to put as much of the detail into the…
Why do my textures look like this when I export them in Substance painter 1.7.3? This is a hand texture and that light part is the palm. What is that stretched out noise? This happens with every texture I export.
Thank you for your guidance. I think I’ve got the general idea. When poles appear at corners, the corresponding arcs will be larger. Conversely, adding supporting geometry shifts the poles to other positions to achieve tighter arcs. The exact location of the poles is not critical. What matters most is whether the light and…
I've been getting back into texture work and am always interested in reading ANYTHING about HALO art. Even this old stuff! :) I noticed one of the screenshots, https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/polycount/halo4/m80a.jpg REALLY reminded me of DOOM 3 and I checked and sure enough Kenneth Scott was a senior art director on…
