i would recomend that for the paint parts where there are irregularities that you add wood beneath it, either it was a really bad smith or he has an incredible shaky hand , or i could be wrong and he made it rshed , but the backpart doesnt show that.i am biased. looks cool nontheless
i'm sure one will always be biased to the program they use the most, but i have always found maya to be quicker and more efficient to model in straight from the start. everything can be done right on the hotkeys and mouse, eliminated almost all outside UI interaction. My opinion though.
Here is a pretty nice article that discusses the Orphan Works from a less biased view: http://artslawyer.blogspot.com/2008/10/bush-signed-pro-ip-act-yesterday.html Although I have to say the Massive Black guys seem to be very against the bill and that means something to me.
Digging the vibe. Although I'm a bit biased because of the family relationship.....yes that was me letting everyone know I'm related to Trent. Granddad's sister's son I believe. Second cousin? They have family reunions every year, have yet to go unfortunately.
I loved the crytek engine. I also loved farcry so I guess i'm biased. This next engine looks quite goood. I dont think they'd have to do much updating to get it to where it is in that video though. Looking forward to seeing what they bring out of it.
This thread is just troll bait now with no purpose. People just use your gut feeling and common sense, when dealing things like this and form your own opinions and biases on the person. Strikes me as odd that the info is only being fed into the thread by 1 person.
Thanks for the answer, if it wasn't you I'd probably keep doing the same mistake :) appreciate it, and will try harder next time. I just wanted to know wheter I am going in a right direction since other people's opinions are always going to be more critical and biased. :)
Maya. Max has it's pros and cons, but Maya is a stronger package for Animation. This isn't to say that people use max and get amazing results. Note: I'm heavily biased. Also, there has been some killer work in here lately! The animation punks of polycount are making moves :)

@silvershrimp If you have an iPad you can check out our game creation platform hyperPad (www.hyperPad.com). You can make games for fun and share them with the community, or export for the App store (iOS only for now) with a PRO account. It's pretty cool, and really easy.. But I'm a bit biased ;)
