They took that function out of UDK months ago. Hopefully they implement a new system to go along with Landscape mode in the coming months (Hopefully June)

Can you give a bit more info on this map data parsing? I've done a fair amount of work with mapping and satellite data so might be able to point you in a useful direction (generally speaking the geospatial people have already solved your problem, it's just not obvious where to find the code or tools)

Hi It is indeed true, “multi bucket render” or "Multi core rendering" will increase the speed of your render.Of course speed will come down to your settings but it will be probably faster using Mental Ray.
