Hey guys Wanted to spread the word about a cool IM client our parent company makes. QQ International Reasons this is awesome: * built-in one-click screen cap! drag a box around anything on your screen and it imbeds it in the window. you can draw on top of this to point out specifics. sounds simple, but this has made my…
What do you hope to learn from it? I ask because this is much like asking for polycounts or texture sizes in the sense that it tells you very little of practical use without a whole shit load of context to go with it. The problems with just having a number like 2ms are multiple 1 : GPUs work in a massively parallel fashion…
Looks good, uhm probably going to sound gross a bit but its what kids/teens did. So maybe some sort of grunge details(dirt/black/brown in the arrow indents) around the D pad (you know used) some scratches from being dropped and sometimes my cousin would have a sticker on it from a popular game or even maybe a drawing or…
The issue with linear tone response curves, is that they don't really work well in 8bit to begin with. You need 16bit to prevent banding, it's why the srgb tone response curve was introduced in the first place. I would't recommend using lab for painting though. Photoshop does all sorts of cheats to make lab seem like it's…
Hey Andz I am a UI artist, or should I say was until about 2 months ago when I switched to concept art, however part of my job is also to concept UI as well as everything else...anyhoo. I was a UI artist for 3yrs. I didnt specialise in graphic design but I work with people who did and they are very good at what they do. I…
Instead of pop-up / drop-down menus, Spacedraw's interface is composed of menus made of texts that open horizontally sub-text menus. It's hard to get used to it as sub-menus change the position of other buttons. So you have always everything you need quickly accessible but not always at the same position. Tricky at first,…
@Stromberg90 - Thanks mate, yeah your right I'm least happy with the third floor texture and I'm definatly going to be polishing it up abit. @MaYdaY - Cheers mate, yeah your right about the fog, I'd been leaving it out at the moment as I wasn't quite sure how CryEngine handled fog. Anyway I've quickly played around at…
I've played it like 4 times or so now. I have to say I really like it overall. The amount of detail, lighting/shadow quality is very impressive. I have a decent machine, nothing too crazy, but it runs fine for me, no issues at all. The only things that I would like to see fixed/changed if possible is crouching whenever u…
Are you angry about the setup or the semantics? Semantically they haven't done anything you've mentioned. "works with all games" always preceeds " in the Steam catalog." More over you're not defining "work" and nowhere do they use the tagline "out-of-the-box experience", which brings us to setup. Even an iPhone doesn't…
No idea what this guy is getting at, maybe he got the wrong idea about eye trauma? I know the risk of eye strain is increased with higher refresh rates and 3D tv is supposedly capped at 4 hours a day for "reason's" but I've never heard of retinal detachment being caused by computer use. It's pretty obvious when you are…
