Hey guys
Wanted to spread the word about a cool IM client our parent company makes.
QQ International
Reasons this is awesome:
- built-in one-click screen cap! drag a box around anything on your screen and it imbeds it in the window. you can draw on top of this to point out specifics.
sounds simple, but this has made my life so much easier.
no more need for image hosting for quick critiques!
- one-click chat room creation for up to 20 people. [you can make more permanent rooms that can host hundreds, but there is an approval process that I have never gone through]
This is a must-have for small teams working on a project. Think IRC with pictures.
at work we've got a room for all the artists, including those that have moved on to other studios. great way to keep the gang together/yell fuckwords at each other.
some other nice things:
turn any image into an emote for later reference/spamming of lulz
one-click voice chat
one-click video chat
one-click language translation
file transfer/all the things you'd expect in an IM
It has gotten to the point where I'm annoyed when someone wants to talk on any other IM client.
my QQ number is
706289055 if anyone ends up installing it.
feel free to hit me up to chat/show off whatever you're working on/ask for critiques!

looks amazing, and its called QQ messenger. Could it possibly get any more win?
Assuming it has some user lookup feature that lets you search for people by email you could probably just give that out instead though.
yeah I was thinking the same thing.

Shame though, I'd love to give it a try but I'm really wary about any Chinese software since internet = politics here. There's a lot of other tools made by Netease and Tencent plagued by the same issues. I wonder if their international versions are any different.
