Hi all, I'm trying to create a pistol and I just finished the model in 3dsmax with its UVs. Next up i wanted to bake the edges of the model so that the hard edges are slightly polished. I'm baking EVERYTHING with a cage (no choice here since i'm baking 90° angles). Also every smoothing group is split to its own UV-island:…
Hello all, I wanted to share a Houdini OTL asset I've made and am testing out for the beta release. It also needs Substance Designer. The FREE VERSION OF HOUDINI (Apprentice) works FINE with this and the hair system isn't too hard to learn in 20 minutes. "https://www.psynema.com/houdini-procedural-hair-cards-game-meshes/"…
You can see what happens in the gif. An invisible edge runs from top right to bottom left so the lower/right triangle maintains its shape and thus good UVs. The upper/left triangle gets crushed to a very narrow shape and the uvs get busted. Adding an edge across the middle means the distortion of triangles is consistent…
4 legged animals legs do not walk in sync like you have animated. They alternate legs like "Front Left Leg, Rear Right Leg, Front Right Leg, Rear Left Leg" and repeats. Here is a very good example that you can study [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qC6kj0sqEjs"]horse walking 600fps - YouTube[/ame]
Well, I don't think I have many trouble spots left since I researched every time there was a problem. The only issue left is that the on the metal isn't quite what I would like it to be, but I think that would require use of more advanced shaders, which I am just not as far into learning yet. Thanks for the advice though.
I noticed that when I did my baking that there were some really bad looking parts when I modeled :( so I re-worked the high poly a bit Old New (left is has alpha's that probably won't be seen while the right have those fingerprint lines that's on roshan's wings) Should I stick with the left or the right one?
I did some refinement on the right hand. It should look more grippy now. The left hand will be the next. I think her face is pretty much fine now. Still no eyelashes... I'm probably not going to make them since hyperrealism is not the point of this exercise. I'm just going to refine what's left, do a couple of clay…
Hey Martin, a couple feature requests: 1. Could you take the bottom most icons and move those back to the top. 2. Could you have the option to move all the tools from the left panel to the right side of the window, I put NS on my left monitor so mousing all the way over there to click a button takes awhile.
Looking fun :) On the first image the wide bright area on the left is taking away from what I imagine would be the focus of the image. If you want the viewer to be led up the path and towards the tree heads, I'd pull in some foliage or bring up the hill on the left to cover that large bright spot a bit. Too much contrast…
Slight improvement? Added more geometry to the curve of the tunnel, dimmed the lighting down a bit with some colour (too much colour?), added some grunge to the ceiling and right side..... still working on the left side. I'll probably add some more geometry to the left wall tomorrow, and add some models on the ceiling like…
