Awesome work, very nice stuff indeed. I'm particularly pleased to see you did your own concepts. Top notch work. I'd love to see you try some next gen stuff (normal maps, etc)
Led backlights is the next gen of lcd's, you might look into those. Reportedly they have better color accuracy and more colors than crt and true black and no light bleed and longer life span but i havnt looked into those much..
I've been looking forward to this game. Does it play like a next-gen Max Payne? Cause I loved the Max Payne games and this looked very similar from the vids I've seen. Need the PC version to be released already.
Congrats on the your 5th title!. Now lets see some Next Gen stuff as Prs-Phil said Did you overcome any imitations when making artwork for the game? Were you newly challenged in an area of the development process?
don't use that tutorial. it's outdated and contains incorrect information. this one isn't as basic though it contains a lot better information: http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/autodesk-3ds-max/project-workflow-creating-a-next-gen-sci-fi-prop-day-2/
Well I decided to start something new, something more in my comfort zone. The goal is to make a current gen realtime bust with SSS shading. I already feel that there's something wrong with the mouth... Didn't figuredwhat yet. Crit very welcome !
thanks, for some reason I thought those only worked in max, this looks awesome though: [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlMuQYgnKm4"]Maya 2013 Extension Release: Direct X 11 Next gen viewport Shader - YouTube[/ame]
Wow, great news! Will the new version include: - export layers from project to PSD with layers? - more shaders (previous gen bumped/specular and specular/roughness PBR)? Anyway, Substance Painter is amazing program! Cant wait for the new release! Thx
Well that's disappointing. Since I don't plan to pick up a next-gen console for at least another few months or even a year, I was hoping to hear about UT4 :( Oh well, hopefully the people who are getting a PS4 are happy with these announcements.
depends entirely on the lighting setup of the engine. Some previous gen engines still wanted diffuse without lighting baked in... and really, anything that relies on dynamic lights, or is moving around a lot would benefit from having as little baked in lighting as possible.
