Little update, back view of the outfit. The holsters are on his back between his shoulder blades and blend into the jacket like pockets (trimmed with the darker black). Also included the 'sheriffs' badge idea, a white crystal purifying the dark metal.
Very cool, this is shaping up nicely. I always love to see projects like these. How much of this is modular? Are you just using one a few different trims? I'd like to see the texture sheet so far! :D
Haha yep I always had a running jump in there. I haven't really worked on it though so thats why I trimmed it off for this gif. I'll post another update on friday if I get enough time to work on it.
Thanks tierzilla. As for tuts, I don't think I have tricks that aren't already covered on the "Environmental Sculpting" page of the Polycount wiki. It's just a lot of Clay Tubes, Trim Smooth Borders, Orb Crack Brush, and looking at reference.
I usually put a mask in my alpha channel for masks, but as far as the sculpting goes. I usually just beat down the edges with trim dynamic and use alphas to get the details I need then bake. Nothing too crazy.
put some gold trim round the bottom of the red skirt, i think both poses are good .... think the one with the robe is better , but its ahame to cover the details maybe you should make the robe see thu .... GL
If you couple that upgrade with a full windows reinstall (i advise to get Windows 7 64bit, it has support for TRIM, which basically will grant you better long term performance with your SSD), it should definitely be worth that money.
pet peeves = lol We no longer have to trim our dialogue down so that it is sent faster through our 14.4 modems. Get with the f'ing program and just laugh to yourself, and don't bother telling us about it. omg4real
Baked out a little trim piece from the ground today, Not that much detail on the tires and pylon on the edge but Im hoping to get scanned tire into the scene at some point. I have a pylon from a previous project that I will probably texture in Mixer.
Probably something like that. But it doesn't have so much unique detail it could even be trim tex for base and masks/decala on top. It is not a good practice in any scenario to texture such a large object as unique. The pixelation from close would be very visible.
