Thanks for making that vid! That's cool to see how you are making your alphas. I've always had the same issue with mesh pinching from using brush modifiers, so I had started trying to wait until the end to use anything that pinched the mesh. From what you're doing though it looks like I might be able to get around that.
There is one part where Im stuck tho and I need some help. I'm working on the barrel right now and I get pinching with this block that sticks out of the barrel. Does anyone has tips on how the topology should flow in order to fix the pinching?
He have too much space in those cracks. Pinch brush will demolish your topology. You can use Dynamesh with Pinch Brush. OR you can just add there volume. Like use Clay brush to build there more volume, then TrimSmoothBorder Or TrimDynamic, to polish it.
i think a large part of the problem is that the shapes are flowing toward the front and pinching at her forehead - which makes it look like it's her hair line. Generally a bandanna will flow horizontally across the front and only pinch in at the back (the ref you just posted is a good example of that)

Demoncage, I don't use Mudbox but I think you can get a similar effect just using the pinch tool in Zbrush. Your head looks great but a little soft, run the pinch tool down the bottom and top of your creases and you should see something similar.
