Lighting Process To briefly discuss the lighting process in this scene, because its a video game environment, first thing I do is ensure the shadows will look correct under any lighting condition. This involves lots of tweaking of the uv set used for light maps, as well as the resolution for those light maps. To test those…
Fixed some light maps, added barrels to the foreground, made some slight adjustments to the stone oven texture, and made the roof more curvy to emphasize the Warcraft style =) =) =)
More fixes that should make the lighting more natural and slight changes to the hair. Can anyone tell if the contrast in the image isn't too jarring anymore? Thanks. rogermein1
I wanted to see what this character could look like in Redshift. It's very tricky to get the skin shading right in this application. I used scanstore textures which were not the highest resolution. It worked well for a Unreal Engine project but perhaps for redshift it could be better to use xyz texturing. Especially the…
Hello everyone! I’m excited to share my latest Unreal Engine project with you. This was my first time experimenting with ray tracing, and I’m truly amazed by the level of quality that UE5 can deliver. I hope you enjoy the results! I am hoping to focus and improve my lighting skills for my next project, does anyone know any…
Nice work on the textures! I personally am not a big fan of visible HDRI backgrounds in the renders, I think it is a bit distracting (especially the 2nd shot with the graffiti on the walls). Otherwise really good renders and lighting! :)
Slight lighting updates and things Im going to re block out that door area, as ive discovered it has a nice little stair way area with some pipes and things
Digging this. It has a slight Rage vibe to it so I suggest checking out some lighting set-ups from that game. Stellar work on the stylisation of the props and texture work.
Well, the progress on the final touches for this character were stalled with some conflict with Substance Painter for a bit but I thankfully got that resolved so have just been trying to get good renders made for my portfolio as final steps. I've managed to resolve a lot of the fuzziness and fireflies that come with…
Thanks Dan! I think it may be down to the lighting which is posing a slight problem right now. As for the grunge that's a good suggestion, but I'm going to play around with some decals too. :)
