Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, I'll toss Softimage's XSI into the mix I believe it's Valve's go to animation software, and it sure is a thing of BEAUTY! A few other local TV & FX houses around town use it as well. -

@Eric Chadwick - Yep, exactly that. It's incredibly painful to watch someone try to get their portfolio to load, since it most likely won't at GDC. Obviously, in general, put it online. But for GDC specifically it's best to just have a local folder of images. -

Check if Gamma correction is turned on. If it's off, then try resetting your Max settings by exiting Max and renaming this folder: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2012 - 64bit If that doesn't work exit Max, and rename it back. -

my USB ports are broken too. I'm planning on selling the tablet anyway as I got a huion that works just as well, but I was thinking of just taking it to a local electronics repair shop. Would they not be able to handle that for a fraction of the cost? -

Metal tends to rely on lighting in many cases to fully realize the material sense. If you can show this perhaps repeating on a wall with some localized light sources, it'll help to show how your spec is working within the material. -

Yes sir, that place and most fitness centers are a scam. Keep your member ship fee, clean off a spot on the floor and start doing squats and pushups. Unless you're serious about weightlifting then find a local hardcore gym. -

Actually that's done because it's usually infiltrated by metastases. In breast cancer I know it is sometimes done with the axillary lymph nodes as a prophylactic measure because, well local edema is better than cancer if someone missed something on the biopsy examinations.
