Your current method isn't too far off, just make your main cylinder 24 segments instead of 12. Then cut the holes out exactly the way you have it now, just dont terminate any edges on your highpoly, keep it all quads and it should smooth perfectly.
Here is our new real time showreel for our BA Games Art course, most of the work is from 2011-12. It was all made using UDK or Cryengine apart from the helicopter shots, enjoy. [vv]53611822[/vv] And here is our 3D modelling showreel [vv]53612325[/vv]
Yeah that sounds about right. So does that mean they're saying the average experience in the industry is 6 years? That would mean that we're averaging a senior artist? There would have to be an absolute ton of people with ~12 years of experience to balance out all the junior artists out there. Seems a bit off, no?
I like 3 and 12 the best, or 10 if you really want that external switch. Most of those silhouettes are too complex for their own good and certainly more complex than your reference. I'd stick to simpler, clear forms both for readability and because this would supposedly be a fairly small asset.
The Ale I like to drink is only sold in 6 packs and 12 packs, but often I'd like to get 4 bottles for a nice evening of moderate booziness. Finishing off the remaining couple of beers is quite the temptation at times. What are these madmen trying to do to me and my various tender organs?!
If I had to be whore for a particular company, it would be Wacom. In 12 years Ive only ever seen two tablets become unusable, one died when I stupidly yanked the connector off the end of the cable and the other was cursed with some retarded proprietary Apple connector that they decided to drop support for.
Thx Vig. I did model the hole on top but when I added my AO it blacked the inside out. Probably go back and delete that section from the map. The axles are about 10 or 12 tris a piece but I get what your saying about just moving in closer.
you are worried about hte drums having one pedal.. the guitars have 5 buttons... well 10 now with the solo things.. thats still only 10.. theres 12 notes to music. not counting octaves and all that jaz. my point is, its a game, and not real drums, and not real guitars.
Yes, I originally had sockets 12-16 in there, but then I noticed his center of gravity goes way out of whack whenever he "turns". Even though the animations are blending, the whole mesh shifts to the side so it looks like he's walking on the side of an invisible wall. I also noticed that UT2003 characters all have sockets…
Day 12: This will be the final day for this sculpt, tomorrow will probably be just another head, but I may make myself a 2D proportional reference and share that if I do! I like this a lot so far, my only dislike has to do with losing detail during remeshes. The character lost a lot of the original shape work and looks…
