It's not "reserved for polycounters", it just makes sense to congratulate polycounters since they actually visit here and will see the posts. What Polycount should have done was to make him a official Polycount birthday card and send it to him!
Well I'm calling it! It's been a bit since my last post and it's changed quite a bit. Hope you guys like it :) I had to down res for Polycount, but there are high res on my ArtStation. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/obL48m
On link below page, press ctrl+F and then search "Panel", at least one example there Subdivision Surface Modeling - polycount also check google as well if needing some more step by step for the baking process, looks like one good tutorial here: ArtStation - Understanding High Poly Floaters for Baking Details
I'm still a bit confused by the care-free "polycount doesn't matter" attitude of Nanite. I know it performs amazingly well for static meshes, but I can't wrap my head around the logistics of importing 5M-poly meshes into UE5. 1. If you're importing ~1GB+ FBX files into UE5, wouldn't that be impractical just for syncing…
Vlad made "Polycount Guild" and I made "Polycount Workshop" and PolycountWorkshop" to reserve the names. Just good old "Polycount" was unavailable unfortunately. Valve mentioned that they were protecting some names, hopefully "Polycount" falls under that.
