Now that you point out the glass i definately feel as though i should have tried alot harder, your correct about the overlaying factor, it was merely to obtain the feel for glass as it would only ever be seen from a distance, it wasnt an attempt at making glass players would interact with. The sketchbook idea sounds very…
Hey guys! So something I've wondered for a while is how to go about creating huge sprawling vistas in a game engine, I'm talking about scenes like these: The backgrounds seem really detailed and in many cases don't actually seem to be geometry. I was just wondering if anyone has any input on how these kinds of scenes are…
Hey guys, Worked on some hand-painted textures for a recent project and would love some feedback, Ill soon be starting work on a portfolio (just finished University) So any advice is gladly welcomed! This was all done during my final year at Uni, a lot of it I dont consider portfolio standard but I think some of it is…
I could be wrong but I was having a similar issue last night painting in MB and it's because my mesh was triangulated on import. When I would paint in the edge it would fill a triangle. Instead of solving it I would leave it and in Photoshop I'd correct it. Hope this helps :S
yeah^^^^^^^^^^^ and zackFs its seams a bit confussed what your trying to acheive, i would either hand paint everything, or normal/spec map it and use a shader to work with the hand painted effect.
Wow that sounds like a massive ball ache..... it'd be nice later on if they implement a solid 3D system for PS, like dropping your model to a canvas and painting on it, getting rid of the need for a painting app altogether :)
Hello! I can't weight paint on my lowpoly mesh. Brush just makes no influence on weights (only gradient alt + LMB making effect). For example i want to remove weights for this bone (red selected) and this mesh (yellow selected). Can someone suggest a solution? I am facing this problem every time i try to rig a lowpoly…
Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but it make me think of something. Do games like Torchlight of WoW ever do high poly models for their hand painted stuff for the sake of getting a nice AO to overlay on their textures? It seems like that would be handy. Or is it simply all just awesome painting?
Hi guys, when I use the 2d paint tool on a new layer to scribble over an object on another layer it switches to that layer rather than having the scribbles stay on the layer I had originally selected for the exact intention to stay separate.. Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix this annoyance? thanks
This is my first ever model in blender! I recently graduated so i wont be able to use Maya for very much longer, so i felt like now would be a good time to try to learn blender. Modeled and sculpted in blender, painted in substance painter, and rendered in Marmoset. If anyone has any useful blender tips let me know! I…
