Hey! So I've recently noticed in UE4 that after I bake light, the baked shadow information drowns out the normal map edge definition, is there a way to avoid this without adding more geo? It looks like it only takes the mesh geo into consideration and not the normal map?
Hello, I am modeling a browning 50 Cal Machine gun and i am struggling to make the main barrel bit that has the holes in it. Im trying to boolean it but the topology comes out bad. Whats a good method of getting clean topology and keeping its roundness? Thank you.
ya i've been trying to figure out how to upload them from my computer i'm not trying to bait anyone...im too grown for that...just saying....so i need to put my things on photobucket???
I did find good pics of young girls faces, the mistake was that I used a grown womans head as a reference for the poly modelling as I couldnt find a nice young girl side and front view. lesson learnt
OK update. I've set up a little scene for the pirate. But boy, is it brown! I need some other colour in there, but will that detract from the character? These are the questions on everybody's lips. Maybe. Still not set on the face. I'm not about that face.
I agree with Hermit. The model looks fantastic. The textures could use some work. It looks like you just used three colors: grey, brown, and silver. Try varying up the greys. And the red is really bright.
I can't really say. Statistically it's going to be enabled, the more tech savy crowd might have it disabled. I wouldn't worry about it but if you ever get the time it wouldn't hurt to go in and change the iframes to frames.
Do you have some reference that you are using for the cliffs? Right now it doesn't read very well as stone, it just looks very lumpy and brown. As for the rest, it looks alright but there still isn't much to crit at this point.
The model it's self is great but the texture gets me. it's just my option but it reminds me of a school locker as far as the brown. Maybe another option for the texture could be re-done dosen't really have to still and great piece.
i love them. it's a direction i'd like to see more games go in (ever play the coop lara croft game?), and i think it's unfair to class them as not AAA, AAA is almost a buzzword for "brown shooter" these days.
