@Fabi_G thanks for the feedback! The lighting is all baked with lightmass. I've seen that fairly exaggerated bounce lighting is the key to stylized lighting, but in my project I had to tone it down a little because the bounced lighting would be very aggressive in some parts of the map. Regarding your comments about blurry…
Hey everyone, I’ve just launched a new site – openhdri.org – where I’m sharing free HDRI environments for lighting and rendering. At the moment there are 7 HDRIs online, and I’m uploading new ones almost every day as the library grows. Each HDRI is: * Unclipped (no blown-out highlights or clipped sun) * Full 32-bit OpenEXR…
Hey man ! i have short time so ill be brief : * The folio feels a tad "empty" and you seem to focus on props when you say you also specialize in rigging and lighting in your artstation, at the moment you dont showcase any of that so i would refrain from publicizing stuff that you dont show work on. * There is a lack of…
I like it, and props for doing the models yourself! Nothing major wrong with it at first sight, the rock formations look convincing and the distribution of foliage seems spot on for the most part, but perhaps you could play with a couple of different light situations, as midday and very little shadow are pretty difficult…
turpedo, Thanks for the critique I agree completely. I think toning down the light will make the helmet stand out a lot more. I tried to go for a high dark/light contrast. I was hoping the rays of light and high specularity of the helmet would give more eye movement. Another thing I noticed was a slight stretch on the…
Nice! I'll preface this with the fact that you did a nice job already! If the alterations below are minor it's because the work you've done here is pretty solid. The textures are yummy, the light and colors are pleasant and in line with the reference, the rubble is beautifully scattered on the ground. Clever choice of…
The first thing I noticed was that there weren't any real focal points to this space. I really couldn't settle on a place I should be looking, so my eyes were bouncing all over the place. Also, do you have any sort of mood in mind for this space? Is this place abandoned, cold and empty? Do you want it to feel warm and…
Ah the past 1-3 weeks have been a most productive and interesting time, not only have I managed to get the majority of other modules done, albeit at the expense of working on 3D Body Modelling, but I have managed to get back on track with 3D Body Modelling after doing so. The stage I am currently at is the texturing…
You are going in the right direction for your portfolio website, keeping it simple and letting people see your work with ease. I just have a couple of thinks for your work in the future. Remember to make your environments clear with better lighting. For example your Dystopian, is a bit to dark. With the fog you added and…
