Miniature update for anyone who may stumble across this thread: It appears as though any changes made to the grid intensity will be ignored after exit. Literally just not included with anything else in the .clrx. This isn't some "log on as admin" issue, it just straight up refuses to play ball. I did a bit of searching and…
wrigglybear: No reason to thank me. That is the whole point of this community :) Yes, at the moment you should stay completely with quads as you want to go into Zbrush with this. You want the mesh to be as 'grid-like' as possible. You can take a look at how I handled back then the hands. Its even easier than you might…
Awesome work, inspiring! I suggest to look how the scene feels without the grid in the big hole. I kinda liked how it looked in the beginning, i photoshoped it away on a newer pic to see how it looked but i cant really decide what i liked best. Not that its anything wrong with your design just thought i could mention it.
Looks cool, although I notice you still have all the rivets modelled - that stuff should be texture detail, especially so high up when nobody will notice. Normal maps (or a good diffuse if normals aren't allowed) will look no different to modelled rivets. Same goes for the diamond-pattern grids on the higher windows, those…
I have been trying to use the preview on the guides I placed but it keeps giving me an error saying that there is no location found in the description. I'm new in xgen so I don't really know if I missed a step or how to fix this. The way I set up the scene is by making a new description, then in "Generate the Primitives" I…
Hello everyone! I am currently working on a character based off a mafiosa character mixed with chinese motiffs. I am targetting her aesthetic towards stylized and flashy fighting games/hero shooter vibes, with Marvel Rivals as my art direction/goal. I am on the blockout stage so far, and would like some feedback on how is…
I set it up in Maya, by setting up some planes for the floors and walls. Then I make a new camera and put an image plane on it. position the camera so the grid lines up with the floors. Then I find it pretty easy to adjust everything and place new things where needed. This image is kinda hard to line up, some of the…
Thanks guys! SirCalalot is correct that ProBoolean is much cleaner for creating subtractions. I would like to add to that, to keep your geometry super clean, keep it on the grid! If you look at my subtraction mesh and my base mesh, you will notice that the topology is already very similar. That means that it is minimal…
This weekend I started on creating a modular interior set for the asteroid cave, and xpanded it with tech pieces and connection pieces for both themes to use for a 2nd interior. The piecs are all build on a grid and can be snapped together easily. Here is a quick screenshot how it looks in maya, and a quick test export in…
