@Asteric: Crisp highlights on normal maps you mean? I toned down "DiffuseBoost" to 2.3 on lightmass settings (default is 5.0 which is way too exaggerated for the clean textures I'm using imo). when I bake my AO's i set my rays to 500 for highquality, i don't know what my samples is, i think i left those at default. That way you don't get that puffyness in the flat shaded areas. I'm also using the light tracer method. That probably won't solve the issues you have, but thought I'd just throw that tip out.… -

I'm pretty sure that 720p is a newer standard than 1080i. The latter does have a higher resolution, but the signal is interlaced (meaning only half of the horizontal lines of resolution are displayed at a time, oscillating between even and odd lines of resolution several times a second to create the appearance of 1080… -

I agree with Earthquake... step it down a few notches on the CPU and I'm sure you'll be just as happy, but probably spend about $500 less. Then again, if you can afford it and you can deal with the warp speed depreciation on it, then go for the uber CPU I also agree with runner about stepping down the RAM a bit. You can… -
