Re: SOLVED: Dynamask Custom Painting
For the time being you could do a flatten layer copy in your Albedo map (select topmost visible layer, then Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E) and copy/paste that into the painting area for the mask under your painted layer so you can see where you're painting, then delete it before applying the mask. -

Made these in Asesprite, apparently Pixen is only for macs so unfortunately I didn't get to try that one out,but asesprite is good. The only thing that was kinda lame was the layers..not able to add a frame to an individual layer, with out adding a frame to all the other layers. still pretty awesome tool tho. thanks again! -

One thing i'd try is an ambient occlusion bake. Load that into photoshop and use it as a layer to produce some nice colored shadows with layering affects. Invert it and do some highlights. Heck you could even take it further and start touching those layers up with smears, brush strokes and stuff. Just a thought... -

zAppLink with PSCS2?

Whenever I try to use zAppLink with Photoshop CS2, it either crashes Photoshop, or it opens the psd but the Layers palette doesn't work (no layers showing, not even a background layer) and if I try to save the file, it crashes Photoshop. I looked around on Zbrush Central and found some other mentions of the same issue, but… -

In my experience you usually need both . second UV for macro/unique texture layer and masks and tillable UVs . Plus the decals too. So they are complimenting rather than excluding each other. -

So the combined map in this image pretty much follows Lennyagony's guide. You bake out a Prtn and Prtp map, and desaturate these images. Prtn on bottom with PrtP on top set to screen at 75-85% opacity depending on your needs. Then just the Green channel is copied out of the bent normal baked out. This is set to soft light…
