I found a script called migNormalTools and I've been trying that. I'm not sure if it's helping though compared to the default tools.

MODO specific tip: You may also want to try setting your Colorspace from sRGB (default) to Linear.

We upped the light map resolution for the cabins in UDK from the default 32 to 512 and it fixed the problem. Thank you.

Check the "Ground Slope" settings in the foliage tool - default value is 45°. 90°+ allows you to paint on walls and the like.

Found it on the UDK forums. View=> WorldProperties=>Game Type=> Default Game Type: UTGame. It was as simple as that .... Helped for my problem.

Thanks a bunch! I could have sworn that the default sky cast shadows but maybe that was in toolbag 1x? Oh well. :)

Thanks! - and very much agreed, it is only at this stage meant as a place holder zip, it was created from a default brush in Zbrush.
