Please just move your portfolio over to Artstation. Right now it's a bit unpleasant to navigate, in part because of slow load times and in part because I have to expand a ton of thumbnails to get a good look at anything. The models look pretty good. I am noticing that while you've got big scratches, you're missing smaller…
I agree, that military vehicles can be realy damaged (I serverd on a Leo1 myself) and I also want to add this to my model. Maybe I'm to cautious o this regards. I will try to push it more with the next itteration. And your size guess is not that far of. The mech has a height of around 6.5 meters. ;)
I think the edge damage could be larger and more pronounced. Right now your edges kind of look like they have a normal baking issue. When making stylized stuff, try making the bevel bigger. Your roughness channels need a lot of work too, it all looks pretty glossy.
@allmighty_thunder Haha yeah working on getting the marmoset reflections off. still not super fluent with the tool yet! cheers :) Just a small update, I've been working on grunging and damage, probably want to push it a bit further still. still some stickers to get on there and some changes to the lighting set up for…
It's supposed to be oil. I was trying to give the impression that the gun was slightly over oiled to give it more character. Maybe in that specific shot it looks like damage? I might have overdone it a bit. I made a few of the other bolts and areas oily too, but they're hard to see in that shot. Thanks for the feedback!
You could play with even damaging that sucker up more, like he has really has been through something or has been using his leather for quite some time. Other then that no it's not dug too deep. Keep going! The paint job on that leather could be really torn, dirty and old.
This looks awesome any chance you can show the method you did for like the damaged walls with all the support behind them would really like to see that really like the detail in the game when floors have been exploded and you can see all the beams and same for the roof and walls.
indeed, that's the problem with bsp cubes (same problem im having). but i dont think a damaged pillar would fit his design. he could make it a biy more roundy, but not more than that. edit: okay now that i look i dont think it's bsp. dumb of the year for me xD
Had a quick mess around this morning very much a first draft, going away from the ref a little and doing a sort of round roof tile base shape is looking ok damage is looking a little crazy think I might use a warp or something instead of a slope blur CC welcome :)
If the chest was left there a whiles ago I'd imagine way more weather damage. Like darker, deader wood. Rust on the metal parts. I like the grass and flowers although they don't match the art style of the chest. Just keep giving it more love! I like the overall feel of how this is going.
