im no gun nut, but that stock seems kind of boxy. also, i see two, possibly three clips? im guessing there is a weapon underslung below the sniper rifle, but its not very apparent. see how that is almost a gun in itself? i would try fleshing that out a bit more. excellent start though -

Well I'm no gun nut... I am Canadian after all, we pretty much don't even know what those are ;) so I can't critique you on the technical workings on the gun. But I can say that its some damn fine modeling, and can't wait to see more. No crits here. -

Unfortunately mlichy's complaints are related to the custom tools here that load with Maya... the upside is that the tools save me an extraordinary amount of time, so while Maya takes longer to load, it's a net positive in the long run (for my workflow, anyway). But it is annoying when you find a crucial issue and crash… -
Re: pc boot problem
This may sound dumb, but make sure no disk is in the drive. I've actually had problems booting when I had a disk in the DVD, dunno wtf that was about, it drove me NUTS. Also a new DVD burner is like $30, you may just want to buy one if you cant figure it out. -

And there are many other great tutorials available on the net. -

the image posted by Tiros is very useful. there are paremeters and proportions you need to know in order to make a human head. i am not sure if the tips about head modeling (where are the eyes, in relation to the mouth. where does the mouth end/begin, etcc) can be found on the net, but they're definitely basics in art… -

(Pistol, SMG, Assault Rifle, Sniper, etc.) Also, check out www.autoweapons.com they sell class III weapons, and take a lot of good pictures. -
Re: triangulate before baking nmaps or not?
I have nothing to add except hidden triangles in Maya drive me bat sh!t nuts. Being able to control hidden edges in 3dsmax and not have it re-triangulate, is very helpful when rigging. I'll have to read up on the info MoP posted sounds like it might be pretty helpful. -

I hope to get rid of this once I get to the rigging phase...for the asymmetry issue, I am thinking of adding damage to this guy...like mainly his armour... he needs to look like a dead man :) resurrected Those wrinkles are driving me nuts so I need to address that... stay tuned -

i did NOT do the concepts, i wish!!! i only did the stuff that was posted earlier, the monsters, and all the humans that are in the screenshot from the game, and yeah, its realtime. insomniac has never really put up their art on the net, so i am kind of doing a mass pimp from the whole team
