Current Progress; ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Alright guys, I’ve decided my next project is an environment
inspired by the Hemwick Charnel Lane area from the 2015 game Bloodborne by…
Yep I agree. It would be awesome if we where able to restructure our society in a way that allowed us all to live in Earthship style homes in close knit communities. People do care, and are changing things just doesn't happen over night like most of us want. All any of us can really do is make the right choices when we can…
Best of luck on your quest and just picking up on what Seth was mentioning. If any artists reading this are near north London and would like to try your hand at Lecturing we would love to hear from you (University of Hertfordshire). We can pay you for the day and I can fit in all skillsets, animation, rigging, technical,…
I've been working with a lot of volumetric rendering related stuff recently, and sometimes it involves creating volumetric textures. The another method is to use procedural content in the volumetric renderer, at least in real time applications. So I've been exploring the ways of creating volumetric textures for different…
Everything was going great until Marmoset 1.10 tore my rig and animation to pieces. I spent 2 days following this tutorial to rig my creature in Maya http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/1371-Rigging-Quadrupeds-in-Maya He uses some kind of "flexi" rig system that relies on nurbs deformation and even a bit of n-hair I…
Eh? What's the point? The riggers and technical artists will be the one pesting against erronous topology, not the animator, which job is just to animate, as in to bring it to life. Here's what you didn't get. Let's look at both positions the same: Animators and Modelers. Modelers: Based on initial illustrations and…
I wrote this a while ago in response to a thread about feeling lack of motivation for projects. It seems to be pretty relevant again several months later, so I'm posting it as a standalone post/topic: One of the most common questions I see in art and design communities comes from beginning artists who want to know: How do…
@cheesechen12 It's looking good so far, excited to see you keeping up with it! Only thing of note I can see at this stage is that the lattice for the ruined stairs doesn't look to have the trim set up quite right. It appears to have slats running horizontal across its surface, even along the vertical beams.
All I'm saying here is just... be aware of your audience. As said, you're free here to express your opinions. We aren't here to shut you down, on the contrary it's great to have you here! This is an artist community. We thrive on thoughtful feedback... constructive and related to improving the quality of the artwork.…
Hey there! I'm a solo indie developer of a sci-fi atmospherical horror game set in space. I am only a few hundred hours into development so far, but I have many of the core mechanics in place and have started on some of the level design. I am awful at 3D modelling, as my experience and knowledge has been focused on…
