Hey Isaiah, yes this is for the Production team. Thanks to everyone for their comments, I really appreciate that feedback :D . I have knocked down the polycount of the teeth a little bit by removing the edge loop in between the front and back side but I'm wanting to keep them 3D and not just use planes to define the teeth.…
Huh...I'm in the Phoenix area. (Scottsdale, in particular) And I certainly would appreciate some advice and guidance in my pursuit of 3D modeling and animation. Unfortunately, I already have a BA in graphic desgin, so I'm not attending UAT. But if your going to be putting together a little meet-and-greet for local…
Ahh that's a cool idea @olaveiras, the eye isn't sculpted in a curved shape, it starts flat as a plane and is bent non-destructively using bend modifiers (or whatever equivalent in the 3D app), so the blendshapes can be very simple left right, up down for that planar eye. Whenever you get to record something (no hurry) we…
Again with the penis models...would you all grow up and think boobs for once in your life? Anyways.....Arka; Welcome to the Polycount, here you will find the tips and crits required to shape up your skills for 3d industry needs. For starters like Low Odor have stated, you need to post your work in pimp and preview (no…
For MD5, trying looking at the doom3/q4/ETQW sdk's. http://www.doom3world.org/ is a good place for idTech modding. Fellow Polycount member Mop also did a tutorial for 3DWorld that covered the export process from 3ds Max to the ETQW engine. Unfortunately this tutorial seems to be offline. I have i downloaded and could…
Don't be afraid to try stuff out on your own. I'd suggest finding concept art and trying to replicate it. Polycount has both a character and environment challenge every 2 months which I'd highly suggest joining; they're in the 3D Showcase section. If you've done a ton of tutorials, it might be time to step out of the…
awww man I wish that this was starting now instead of ending now...I was going through some personal life situations when this first came up that did not allow me to work on it...Are they still accepting submissions for a round 2 batch later on? Also congrats on EVERYONE who got in! Proving yet again polycount win's in the…
Nice work, had done similar for 3dsmax some years back, released on polycount as well and also covering the non "perfect grid" cases, and extended control on interpolation etc. http://polycount.com/discussion/130016/alles-im-fluss-3ds-max-modelling-plugin-released/p1 I no longer actively code on the tool, but made it…
Well that should not really come as a surprise, should it? Just look at the showcase & critique sub-forums here at polycount and you will see that animation only have 3.5K replies while 3D has nearly 525K replies, while the users on these sites are different it is pretty telling of the overall amount of people who does…
well basically, as i understand it, you still use Max and PS just at higher polycount and higher texture resolution if you should get any extras i would seuggest lookin into Zbrush as far as modelling tools and maybe deep pint or some other 3d paint proggie.. But you are still good to go with that killer max/PS combo!
