Millenia, Thank you for reporting, I will look into it. What does the crash message say? sltrOlsson, Thanks for your suggestions. We'll be sure to explain how nDo2's normal engine works more in-depth! RictusGrin, We will not rest until it's solved, that's for sure :) We're doing a new release tomorrow which finally…
Hello everyone, When baking in Marmoset Toolbag, diagonal shading artifacts appear on the surface. It seems to be a triangulation issue, but I can't fix it. I made the model in Maya and baked it in Marmoset. What I've already tried: Triangulating the mesh before export. Checking Smoothing Groups / Hard Edges (soft edges on…
Hey Polycount! So I'm still a relatively inexperienced modeller. I decided to try my hand though at matching a AAA game. I've always been a fan of non realistic styles, so I decided to try my hands at tackling the Borderlands franchise. I played around obviously with some hard surface and organic stuff, but I feel like I'm…
The UV Map has a lot room for improvement. Make use of duplicated objects (e.g. the legs). With this you can use more UV space for each part. Also take the time to improve the UV Map by hand (or use programs like IPackThis). At the moment you are wasting a lot of UV space (and with it texture resolution).
@moosey, thanks man i thought cylinders would come in handy, iv already blocked out the barrel not that that means much seeing how it is just a cylinder lol @frell thanks man ill check out that tut now, i did follow one by chris tate on cg tuts for making an…
I am sorry for my post. It does a bit too much harsh probably. Substance definitely deserve some credit for sure for trying to make new generation of texture tools and they did succeed in that. I use their products every day after all. All other alternatives are worse, no doubt. It's just me feeling frustration with their…
Yeah, I think you are right, its outside of my comfort zone and it would probably be a nice challenge to get stuck in at least try to produce something of a higher standard. I will make sure to attempt it, even its just for my own curiosity in the near future. It bugs me every time I look at it. DAMN YOU EGYPT. I actually…
No idea how they do it, but in photoshop and similar, you can pick the average skin tone of your original map, invert that, and apply it with linear light at 50% opacity. Then apply your skin tones with linear light and 50% opacity as well (maybe some additional tweaks for really dark skin). If you do it yourself with…
designing something to an extend where it start to look new and fresh is incredible difficult.. so you shouldn't be to hard to yourself. imo its more about seeing potential then doing-it-right-in-the-first-try scribbling is more about letting your hand draw and your brain decide Every time I try to draw with my brain in…
Update on the texture. Think it looks a lot better with the hard edges on the mud. Decided to cover his hands completely, it didn't make sense to have his fingers, thumb and wrist covered in mud but not the rest of his hand. Added som soft soot and dirt patches around his lower region. Having to constanly sit on the dirty…
