Hello guys!!! I was wondering if anybody has an idea of how to achieve this result in UE5? I have a tilable texture like this one in my scene, and to add some variation I want some of the stones/bricks to be covered in dirt, or at least the lower parts of some of them. My guess is this is not vertex paint, and I don't know…
Wall is nice, I like the subtle shifts in the bricks and some that pop out, cracks are nice too. Go higher res on the wall, I can see some jagged edges though. What's the color of the wall? Is it that green yellow?
Pretty cool! I think the ground is too flat for a dungeon. I would add a bit of noise to the geo so it is slightly uneven. Then I would place slightly raised geo bricks like you have done with the walls.
Here's my attempt at the three point lighting for this scene. Also added more debris to the rubble including metal beams, bricks, and a set of pipes. Edit: Futzed with the lighting a little more, and I think I'm more happy with this. Thoughts?
Firemonkeys was hiring artists recently, though I don't know whether those positions have been filled yet. They're an EA studio and probably the biggest studio left in the country, with the possible exception of Half Brick. http://www.firemonkeys.com.au/
I think he's talking about doing the textures from scratch as seperate models. E.g, modeling a brick wall, rock or ground and texturing that highpoly, maybe procedurally, before baking it as opposed to photosourcing a complete texture without that step.
Looking good thus far. I especially like the material / texture work. One thing I did notice is one of the maps on your grey brick on the right of the second last image seems to have one of the maps offset.
Here is a brick texture that I plan on placing on wizard tower that I modeled. What do you guys think needs fixed/changed and what can be added to make this look better? Thank you in advance. [IMG][/img]
if you're gonna have a preview of a tiling brick texture, you've REALLY got to make it tile ... it doesn't. This sort of thing on a portfolio, though it might seem minor, undoes every other good thing you might have achieved.
Took a break from some models I'm working on and finished up my brick material for the building! Let me know what you all think I have parameters in to control the amount of mortar, wear and paint.
